BACKGROUND
I am a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Turkiye and as a solicitor in England and Wales. I hold an LL.B degree from Marmara University Faculty of Law and completed my training at a prestigious law firm in Istanbul where I undertook a broad spectrum of roles as a legal practitioner in a wide array of areas. During my bar training, I gained valuable experience participating in mock trials of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR). Qualified and admitted as a lawyer in May 2018, I am registered with the Istanbul Bar Association.
I further enhanced my expertise by earning an LL.M in International Human Rights Law from the University of Sussex. During my studies, I collaborated with the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) as a co-researcher. Following my graduation, I worked as a senior lawyer at a local law firm in Akcakoca before establishing my own legal consultancy business in Brighton in November 2020. Although initially worked in Turkish law, I expanded my practice to offer legal services in non-reserved areas within the jurisdiction of England and Wales after qualifying as a solicitor.
I am regulated by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). I am fluent in both English and Turkish as well as a working understanding of Azerbaijani, enabling me to provide tailored support to clients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
AUTHORISATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
England & Wales
I am a "Solicitor" regulated by the Solicitor’s Regulatory Authority (SRA). I am also approved by the SRA to practise as a freelance solicitor. Although I am regulated by the SRA and approved to practise as a freelance solicitor, I am not an SRA authorised body under the definitions of the SRA. My practice is approved under the SRA exemption for freelance solicitors who do not provide reserved legal services.
As a result, I work alone and in my own name. I would like to highlight that the input of my Turkiye-based associates, when needed, is limited to issues falling within the Turkish jurisdiction as part of my practice as a qualified lawyer (avukat) and is a separate service from my practice as a solicitor to ensure that they do not overlap.
This also means that I cannot advise on some high risk areas of law, which are "reserved legal activities". Reserved legal activities under the SRA rules are as follows:
I.Advice on a dispute, including representing you in court
II.Representing you as a conveyancer for buying or selling interests in property
III.Probate activities
IV.Notarial activities
V.Administration of oaths
Please note that the following areas are outside of my practice and I do not offer legal services in these areas:
I.Immigration
II.Regulated claims management activities
III.Financial services activities
I do not have a client account and I cannot hold funds on your behalf. Any payment I accept will be for my own fees and disbursements in an account in my own name, i.e. money on account as well as final payment of fees and disbursements.
For the professional rules that I am required to follow, please see the SRA Code of Conduct at https://www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/standards-regulations/code-conduct-solicitors/
Please see my Terms & Conditions page for further information.
In the event that you are dissatisfied with my services or you believe that I have acted in breach of my professional obligations, and you would like to make a formal complaint, please see my Complaints Procedure brochure.
Turkiye
I am qualified as a "Lawyer (Avukat)" in Turkiye by the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. I am currently registered with the Istanbul Bar Association.
Depending on your case and your needs, I may acquire the cooperation of my Turkiye-based associates. Please note that this service is restricted to issues that fall under Turkiye's jurisdiction exclusively.
For the professional rules that I am required to follow, please see the Union of Turkish Bars Associations Code of Conduct. You can find it at:
https://www.istanbulbarosu.org.tr/docs/avukatlikhukuku/tbb_meslek_kurallari.pdf in Turkish; or

Please see my Terms & Conditions page for further information.
In the event that you are dissatisfied with my services or you believe that I have acted in breach of my professional obligations, and you would like to make a formal complaint, please see my Complaints Procedure brochure.
Important Information
As freelance solicitors who only undertake non-reserved activities are not obligated by the SRA to hold a professional indemnity insurance (PII), I practise without indemnity insurance. This means that you will not be covered by PII subject to the SRA’s minimum terms and conditions on insurance requirements.
I ensure the best quality of legal services for my clients. However, in the event that things go wrong and you are dissatisfied with my services, the maximum amount recoverable from me is any fee already paid by you plus any disbursement that you have paid.
If you believe that I owe you money, you may be able to make an application to recover your loss from the SRA Compensation Fund. Further information is available at https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/compensation-fund/
Please see my Terms & Conditions page for further information.
